Higher Ground 2025

Strategic Publication Leadership | University of Tennessee College of Arts & Sciences

Overview

Led the strategic planning and collaborative development of the 2025 Higher Ground alumni publication — the first edition produced through a structured ideation sprint and cross-functional content strategy process.

The Challenge

Higher Ground had historically been produced through a more traditional editorial workflow. We needed to:

  • Clarify narrative focus and tone
  • Align stories with institutional priorities
  • Strengthen experiential learning visibility
  • Integrate digital and print storytelling
  • Develop performance metrics to guide future content strategy

My Role

  • Led a structured content ideation sprint to define theme, tone, and narrative flow
  • Facilitated cross-team collaboration (writers, creative, digital)
  • Directed story selection and alignment with college priorities
  • Developed experiential learning promotion strategy within publication
  • Partnered with digital team to launch first magazine-style web version
  • Built a six-month content performance metrics framework

Strategic Impact

  • First collaborative sprint model for annual publication
  • First fully integrated print + magazine-style web experience
  • Clearer narrative arc across stories
  • Stronger alumni storytelling alignment
  • Established measurable content performance strategy
